The village

Pieve a Socana

Pieve a Socana is a village in the centre of Casentino in the municipality of Castel Focognano, one kilometre from Rassina.
The village, an ancient Etruscan site, later an important Roman crossroads and even later a rich medieval village, develops around the Pieve (the church). It was a very important reference point in ancient Christianity and currently one of the most beautiful villages in Casentino.
In the centre of the village there are two grocery stores, stocked with everything you could possibly need. There are also two pizzerias/restaurants, the most famous being "Il Mulino" with its training school for pizza makers and many prizes won in international competitions.
On mild summer evenings, life in the village explodes, the bar "La Pieve", in the centre of the square, offers beautiful aperitifs and a fantastic Italian atmosphere.
The small playground next to the church will allow your children to play and make new friends with the village children, who are always ready to play.
